Showcasing the beauty and wonder of rocks and minerals
The history of rocks and minerals date back as far as earth itself. In fact, many are of particular interest because their compositions help us understand early solar system evolution. Intent on showcasing the wonder and beauty of minerals, Koichi Yoshimura developed a way to exquisitely preserve them in acrylic cubes. He called them “Sola Cubes.”
As the name implies, desert rose is an intricate rose-like formation of crystal clusters formed by precipitation in desert regions and are evidence of an oasis that once was. In terms of geological time, the desert rose forms very rapidly: tens to hundreds of years.
