Tsumugi Hand-Turned Wooden Bowl (Kine)

$55.00

The Art of the Bowl

Tsumugi bowls are designed to follow traditional Japanese food culture that has been preserved through generations. These wooden bowls are hand-turned from Japanese Zelkova wood, which is prized for its quality and grain.

Each bowl from the Tsumugi collection takes after a traditional Japanese shape. This one was inspired by kine, the wooden mallet used to pound mochi rice cakes. The custom is performed for celebrations and the shape therefore symbolizes joy and rejoicing.
