Jicon Curved Flower Dish
Contemporary porcelain for appreciating the present
The Jicon curved flower dish is an elegant yet versatile serving dish that makes both Japanese and Western foods look good.
The Jicon brand of porcelain is a collaboration between designer Oji Masanori and the 350-year old Imamura porcelain studio. The floral motif you see here is a traditional design that has been used by the Imamura Family for hundreds of years.
Located in Saga prefecture and specializing in Arita-yaki porcelain, Jicon was established with the objective of reinterpreting many traditional styles of Japanese ceramics for the modern household. Jicon (磁今) are a combination of the word now, or current (今) with the word for porcelain (磁). It was also intended to overlap with a homonym (爾今) which is a Buddhist term that means live in the present.
