8bit Central Park (Limited Edition Print)
If Central Park were a video game
The artist Shinji Murakami reinterprets one of the iconic features of his adopted city of New York into the 8bit graphic style of early video games. Trees and other features were individually block-printed to create a pixelated, minimal version of one of the world's best known urban green spaces.
Look closely as recognizable landmarks like the Guggenheim, Apple Store, Museum of Natural History and Belvedere Castle are hidden with the map.

Meet the artist
SHINJI MURAKAMI (born 1980, Osaka, Japan) uses his love of 8-bit video game expressions, simple vector lines and original childish drawing characters as a springboard into his own exciting world of story telling. In 2003 Shinji began creating 8-bit map works and street art, and is recently also making 3D-8Bit sculptures that give physical form to his flat 8-bit images.
