Contemporary porcelain for appreciating the present
The Rokkaku-bin vase is a hexagonal flower vase that is both delicate and ceremonial. Its small small opening is meant for just one or two stems: a minimal expression perfectly suited for a tea ceremony.
Designer Oji Masanori created this series of flower vases based on the traditions of Arita porcelain, while reimagining them for a contemporary lifestyle.

About
The Jicon brand of porcelain is a collaboration between designer Oji Masanori and the 350-year old Imamura porcelain studio. Located in Saga prefecture and specializing in Arita-yaki porcelain, Jicon was established with the objective of reinterpreting many traditional styles of Japanese ceramics for the modern household.
Jicon (磁今) are a combination of the words now, or current (今) and the word for porcelain (磁). It was also intended to overlap with a homonym (爾今) which is a Buddhist term that means live in the present.
