Coronavirus Update

Dear Friends -- we hope you are all staying well during this unprecedented public health crisis. As we all face extraordinary challenges and uncertainties, we wanted to share with you some actions we are taking.

First, although many things are changing, our commitment to Japanese artists and designers remains unchanged. We believe that Japanese design, with its rich past and emphasis on quality and craft, has the potential to better our lives.

However, with operational hubs in New York and Tokyo, circumstances have pushed us to make the following changes:

We are temporarily shifting to once-a-week shipping on Fridays only. This change reduces the frequency of outside trips and will help keep us and our staff safe. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

There have been media reports that Japan is shutting down their postal service to several countries. Our primary distribution center is in New York, and is currently not part of Japan Post's suspension, so in the near-term our operations remain unaffected by this change.

However, for select items that ship from Japan, customers located in certain geographies should check this official Japan Post document (PDF) to see if their country is part of Japan Post's suspension. Currently, the following items are shipping from Japan:
